Avant Technologies of Puerto Rico, Inc.

Headquartered in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Avant Technologies designs, manufactures, markets, sells and services a full line of PC Workstations, Notebooks, Desktop Computer Systems and related peripherals.

Avant recently received a U.S. Patent for its Video Sentinel products, which seamlessly integrate hardware and software for remote digital surveillance solutions. Government institutions and many private firms are utilizing Video Sentinel's security technology in Puerto Rico.

INDUNIV

INDUNIV is a not-for-profit organization created for the purpose of promoting close and effective interaction between industry and the academic community in the areas of applied research and problem solving. It is a PRIDCO Science and Technology Office supported resource that serves Puerto Rico's high-tech industry and related communities.

INDUNIV helps Puerto Rico's high-tech firms:

 
  • Solve their technical and scientific problems
  • Find funding for their research projects
  • Increase the technical skills of their employees
  • Share information by sponsoring conferences and trade shows targeted to the pharmaceutical and allied industries.

Materials Characterization Center

The MCC is a not-for-profit, self-supporting organization created by INDUNIV that strengthens science and technology activity on the Island by providing industry with a state-of-the-art material analysis and scientific consultation through its four component facilities:

VERNET, headquartered in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, produces award-winning, interactive educational software for students and educators. The company has developed a new multimedia compression mechanism/algorithm that packages education software in high-density media.

MOVA Pharmaceutical Corporation

MOVA's state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities are headquartered in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

Although contract manufacturing is MOVA's core business, in 1998, with PRIDCO's assistance, the company completed the construction of a 40,000 sq.ft. Pharmaceutical Research and Development Center. The facility offers development services for solids and liquids, including a fully equipped cGMP pilot plant.

Currently, five new pharmaceutical products are being developed at the Center.
